Eure et Loir Region of France - Maintenon
By Linda Thalman

It's a 15 minute drive from my home to the Eure and Loir region and how lovely it is. From Paris by car or train it will take about an hour.

Maintenon Castle February 2004 You will also want to explore, the cathedral city of Chartres, the Eure and Upper Loir Valley and the areas called La Beauce and Le Perche.

Chartres is not to be missed, but neither is the lovely Maintenon castle and its gardens. in - surprise - the town of Maintenon.

I often taken visitors to Maintenon as it really is worth the visit.

I had the pleasure of re-visiting Maintenon last month. The castle was not open the day I was there, but just the view from the bridge was worth the trip.

It was also the occasion to meet the delightful owners of Astonish-Me.com on a brilliantly sunny day in February. For quality gifts made in France and shipped from France, do visit Astonish Me.

From the Comité Départemental du Tourisme for the Eure and Loir web site we learn:
